Timing is Everything

They needed each other
Matthew and Murphy

Matthew P. considers it perfect timing.

His previous dog had to be euthanized suddenly and he was ready to open his heart to another dog. Matthew was visiting our Facebook page when he saw the photo of 5-year-old, 75-pound Husky, Murphy.

Murphy’s family reached out to Where the Love is Animal Rescue because they were facing an impossible situation that threatened the dog’s safety if they did not act quickly. They were desperate to find him a new, loving home, but did not want to put him in a shelter.

“He is a loving member of our family with our children and another dog,” wrote the owner in an email. “He is a good dog and very affectionate. He is adored by everyone in our neighborhood and the dog sitter as one of the sweetest loving dogs.”

Matthew thought “he seemed to be the pet I was looking for. He was older and trained.” Matthew met Murphy after connecting with WTLI volunteers who work primarily to find surrendered dogs new homes. Matthew officially adopted Murphy earlier this year.

“Murphy has adjusted well,” Matthew said. “A little slow at first but he has come to love his new home.”

Matthew and the previous owners have agreed to communicate periodically regarding Murphy’s new life. They say they are extremely grateful to Matthew and WTLI for making sure Murphy’s new life is a happy one.
