Where the Love Is, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter based in Hamden, Connecticut. It is dedicated to the prevention of animal cruelty and abuse, giving pets a new "leash" on life and finding them a loving forever home. Each pet is fully vetted, receives some training, and gets lots of love before they are matched with a new family. Where the Love Is relies fully on volunteers, so 100% of your donation goes toward the animals’ health care and social and emotional well-being.

Meet Jan
Meet Jan. She is a 1 year old goofy and sweet hound mix who has lots of love to give. She loves to go on walks, car rides and her all time favorite is belly rubs! She also loves to play fetch with her toys and can entertain herself for hours. Jan can be very shy at first, but given a little time and patience she comes out of her shell. She gets along with cats and dogs given the right introduction. she is house trained and crate trained. Her ideal home would be one with adults only or with children 12 and up who can respect her boundaries while she decompresses. A fenced in yard is also a huge plus.
